End of season

2 Jun by Tim Hughes

First and foremost, thank you all for being a part of the Red Dog family! It’s and honor and a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with the coaches and players in the sport were so passionate about. Hats off to our coaching staff for pushing our players to recognize their potential. Both sides had winning days at the final competitions of the season! Excellent way to wrap up the year.

To the parents, I want to again thank you for all your support throughout the year. Big shout out to the Seibers for coordinating all the high school after match socials, and all the parents who contributed to them!

Lastly, but the reason we’re all doing what we do, to the players who dedicated their time to practices and learning the game, listening to the coaches and laying it all out there on the pitch, here’s to you! You guys rock! You’re of the select group who can proudly say “I play rugby!”. Coaches have noted the difference from the start of the season to the end of the season and the individual and team growth has been outstanding! Of our 4 seniors graduating, 2 have been with us since their 7th grade year, which was our first year of middle school. Seth was mistaken as a Junior when he was a 7th grader by half the coaching staff, props to being a mean mugging balling from day one. And Peyton will be playing rugby for ICCC, a premier D1A rugby destination for players from around the world. We are graduating an 8th grade class of ruggers 11 strong that dominated their competitions falling only to the 1st and 2nd place teams in state. Excited to see them join the ranks of the HS side next season. Experience at the middle school level is invaluable to individual performance and overall team improvement in high school.
